As some of you may know, Dr Alvarez is due to retire from General Practice at the end of March 2026. He has asked me to share with you the following letter:
Dear Patients,
As I prepare to say goodbye, I would like to express my deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to all the patients of Kingswell Surgery. From the very beginning, you welcomed me with kindness, trust, and warmth, and it has truly been an honour to be part of this community.
Caring for you has meant so much to me. Every conversation, every shared moment, and every opportunity to support your health has been a privilege. I have always tried to give the very best of my knowledge, compassion, and dedication, and I hope I have made a positive difference in your lives, just as you have in mine.
I would also like to recognise the unwavering commitment of all the partners of this practice since 2018, following the retirement of Dr John Davies. Continuing the exceptional standard of care he provided for so many years has been a great responsibility for us all. I feel proud and humbled to have contributed, as part of this devoted team, to carrying that legacy forward and striving to meet your expectations.
We have faced many challenges, particularly with the increasing pressures on the NHS, but through it all, your patience, understanding, and resilience have been deeply appreciated. I sincerely hope that, despite these difficulties, we have been able to support you when you needed it most.
It is not easy to say goodbye to a community that has meant so much to me. I will carry with me the memories, the connections, and the trust you have placed in me throughout my time here.
Thank you, truly, for everything.
Wishing each and every one of you continued good health, strength, and happiness in the years ahead.
With warmest regards and sincere appreciation,
Dr Moises Alvarez
